In just a few weeks I will be headed to lovely Birmingham, England to participate in Auto Assembly! I've been hearing for years about how much of a blast people have at this particular con, and I am completely excited to finally be able to experience it for myself. I am really looking forward to meeting in person so many of the folks I've met online already, as well as catching up with some others that I've been fortunate enough to become good friends with.
So... here's my deal for sketches at Auto Assembly:
First of all, I apologize (or should I say apologise?) for not being able to put up a sketch preorder list. I've just been too busy with everything else I have going on and won't really have much time at all ahead of the convention to do sketches. To those of you who have contacted me about sketches already, you're on the list. I will either find some sort of time to get yours done before AA, or you'll be some of the first I'll do while I'm there. (If you're not sure if you're confirmed or not, you can message me and I'll verify)
For everyone else, I'm going to take a first come, first served approach. So get to me early on Saturday if you'd like to get on the list. I don't want to fill up my time completely with people who have contacted me online, and not be able to offer the opportunity to other convention goers. There's not much I hate more than turning away someone hopeful of getting a sketch from me at a convention. I will do my best to get as many sketches done as I can handle. What that means is:
I will be offering black & white bust (head & shoulders) sketches only, for £20. If for some reason my table is completely dead, maybe I'll open myself up to more than that. But from everything I've heard about this con, I anticipate being completely slammed all weekend with sketches. I appreciate your understanding about this. And I'm sorry that I don't have the time to offer more than that.
I'm sorry to say this as well, but I do not take sketch orders home with me to mail out after the convention. I've offered this before, and it just takes too long, and is not realistic with my schedule. If you get cut off at the con and I can't get you a sketch, I will sign anything for free, I have prints available, you can talk to me about comics or whatever as much as you'd like.
So... bring on Auto Assembly! I'm really stoked for it. I hope you guys are too. See you there!
